This year’s Marketplace, our sixth, will take place on 25 October at Resorts World at the NEC. Save the date!
We will be inviting applications in the middle of June with an early bird discount in fee for submissions by August and a final deadline in mid-September. There will be places for 36 filmmakers and/or scriptwriters ‒ either individuals or teams of two, who will have the opportunity to pitch up to 3 projects during the day with key players in the industry. Each successful applicant is guaranteed a minimum of three appointments. Successful applicants will have a completed feature length film or high end TV drama, a documentary, a feature length animation and/or a fully developed script or documentary treatment.
We are in the process of finalising sponsorship of the event and the participating industry experts. (In the past we have had BBC Films, the BFI, Lionsgate, Film 4, Creative England and a host of others and we will have an exciting line up for this year.) Whether you are looking for help with production, finance, sales or distribution, you should be able to meet people who can provide that support.
For Forum members there will be an opportunity again to come to an evening reception, so even if you don’t enter the Marketplace, you will still have a chance to mix and mingle with industry players and filmmakers from all over the UK.
Watch out for announcements in newsletters, Facebook, Twitter and Linked in. We'll update this event as more details are announced.
