11.00 - 12.15 - Making it on the Short Film Festival Circuit Case Study: TITANIC LOVE, followed by screening
How do you get your short film into film festivals around the world? Producer/Director and Producers’ Forum Board Member Mark Pressdee gives the inside scoop of how he broke all the rules, learned the art of marketing your film and had an unlikely success against all the odds with his film TITANIC LOVE. The film has won over forty awards, screened around the world received three RTS Awards was recognised by BAFTA as new talent and been broadcast on TV.
Mark used the same self-taught business model on his latest short THE FINAL SCENE which has had a similar success on the International Film Festival circuit. A not to be missed case study with a screening of the film.

Writer and Chair of the West Midlands based Screenwriters Forum Ian Kennedy shares his insights to help writers write a successful short film. He’ll talk about content, theme and structure, plus how to write impactfully in the shortest format available to scriptwriters.
14.00 - 16.00 - Producers’ Forum presents Forum Bytes
The Producers’ Forum quarterly screening of members films comes to the Birmingham Film Festival for the first time. Hosted by Comedian, short-film maker and Producers’ Forum Board Member Mark Pressdee.
You will be guaranteed a fun lively event showcasing work from regional filmmakers and producers. You can also meet the filmmakers themselves and hear a little about the challenges they faced making their films.
16.30 -17.30 - Panel Conversation – Making your first, or the even trickier, second feature film
Looking to make your first or very tricky second feature film? This panel gives an insight into the various ways you can make your first feature and also the challenges of making your second. Hosted by Rebekah Fortune Director of multi-award-winning first feature Just Charlie, the panel will consist of experienced industry professionals who will give their advice and share their extensive knowledge of making films and invite the audience to ask their own questions.

Having won the prestigious Audience Award at last year’s Edinburgh Film Festival, numerous awards internationally and worldwide critical acclaim, Midlands Director Rebekah Fortune’s Moving Drama, “Just Charlie” finally gets a Midlands screening.
Football star Charlie has the world at his feet. With a top club desperate to sign him, his future is seemingly mapped out. But the teenager sees only a nightmare.
