Major Gaming Event
FEBRUARY
New Producer Training Event: THE NAME OF THE GAME
This will consist of a panel of experienced producers from the region, as well as Emerging Producer Trainer, Rebecca Knapp, to give an overview of their business and top tips for success. There will be an opportunity for new producers to network with each other and more experienced producers. All members will be invited to this and the more experienced producers who are not on the panel can use it as an opportunity to meet new producers who they may wish to mentor or give work placements to. Open to all members. Reduced rate for new producers who are not members £20+VAT.
Member’s screening: THE BOUNTY HUNTER
Sunandan and Yugesh Walia have been developing this feature project for a number of years. They took it to the Producers’ Forum business school. In 2009 they received development funding through the UKFC Premiere Fund and Screen WM to make a pilot. The pilot will be given it’s local premiere screening and Sunandan and Yugesh will follow this with a Q&A about the development so far, the making of the pilot and plans for financing the film. This event will be open to all members. There will be a charge of £25 + VAT for non members unless they are cast or crew invited by Endboard.
MARCH

This will be a day long event. The morning will be open to Full Members only and the afternoon will be open to all members. The day will focus on what materials you should include in your marketing package when you are seeking finance for a film, the importance of sales agents and distributors, a case study of a successful marketing campaign, viral marketing, the use of social networks. Forum Monthly Networking
This month networking will include a tour around University of Birmingham to show off the great cost-effective resources on our doorstep.
In addition to these bespoke events, we hope to have at least one screening of a film SWM has invested in followed by a Q&A with the producer.
Please note that these events are in the early planning stage and subject to change due to speaker availability. Watch the website for additional news, updates on the events and how to register.
