Last week we held our first networking evening of the year and it was a real blast from the past as Simon Cox returned once again to the Forum fold.Simon was one of the original members who came on a regular basis 6 years ago.He is a great inspiration because he has already financed his fisrt feature and is now determined to finance hios second. He had made and is selling a DVD about Warwickshire to raise funds for it. It was also great to see Yugesh, one half of the Walia brother team who are also set to finance their first feature, BOUNTY HUNTER this year. We welcomed newcomers Oleg, Chris and Sheila and a very enjoyable evening was had by all courtesy of Wayne from Eversheds who gave us some top pitching tips.In other news unfortunately we have not been shortlisted for the Film Nation Shorts tender though our application was very strong, There were organisations with more experience than we have of delivering at a national level. Though disappointing we are now on the tender radar and I feel sure there will be further opportunities. Roger Shannon has agreed to work with me to raise £500K necessary to run our own microbudget digital film project. Anyone who knows anyone or organisation that we should be talking to about this please let me know. Finally remeber next Monday-25th- is our Small is Beautiful event all about microbudget filmmaking-don't miss what promises to be a day of top tips.
